Britt Music and Arts Festival
Open-air amphitheater in historic Jacksonville among ponderosa pines
The Britt Music and Arts Festival is a summer concert series held in Jacksonville, a preserved Gold Rush town about five miles west of Medford. Performances take place at the Britt Pavilion, an open-air amphitheater on a hillside among ponderosa pines and madrones, on the former estate of pioneer photographer Peter Britt.
The season brings artists from many genres, including classical, jazz, blues, folk, bluegrass, rock and country, plus comedy and film nights. The Britt Orchestra, led by music director Teddy Abrams, performs a classical season each summer.
Many visitors bring a picnic and arrive early to walk Jacksonville's historic downtown before a show. The festival's administrative offices and ticket office are in Medford, and tickets are also sold online. Check the festival's schedule for current dates and prices.
