Old Town Florence

Historic waterfront district with boutiques, boardwalk, and Siuslaw River views

9.1/10
#6 of 6 in Florence

Old Town is Florence's historic waterfront district on the Siuslaw River, just east of the Siuslaw River Bridge, an Art Deco span designed by Conde McCullough and opened in 1936. The compact district is easy to explore on foot.

Bay Street and the nearby blocks hold boutiques, antique shops, art galleries and a number of restaurants serving fresh seafood. Visitors can walk the boardwalk along the river, watch fishing boats and, with luck, spot sea lions near the docks.

The Siuslaw Pioneer Museum is a short walk away and tells the story of the region's settlement. Florence is also the gateway to the Oregon Dunes National Recreation Area, a few minutes to the south.
