Powell's City of Books is a landmark bookstore in Portland's Pearl District that fills an entire city block at 1005 W. Burnside Street. It is one of the largest independent bookstores in the world, with new and used books shelved side by side.
The store is organized into color-coded rooms, such as the Gold, Blue, Rose and Purple rooms, with a map to help visitors find their way. The Rare Book Room holds collectible and signed editions, and the stock covers fiction, non-fiction, children's books, travel and more.
