Located near Silverton, Oregon, Silver Falls State Park is the largest state park in Oregon, spanning more than 9,000 acres. The park is renowned for its dramatic waterfalls, most notably the 177-foot South Falls, the park’s tallest waterfall. The park’s most popular feature is the 7.2-mile Trail of Ten Falls, a loop that allows visitors to walk behind several cascading waterfallsincluding South Falls and Lower South Falls.
The park offers diverse recreational opportunities, including hiking, horseback riding, and camping. The terrain varies from steep, rugged canyon trails to more accessible paths, such as the North Rim Trail, which provides a more accessible view of the falls. The park’s lodge and many of its trails were built by the Civilian Conservation Corps in the 1930s.
