Mount Ashland
7500 foot Siskiyou mountain with ski area and Pacific Crest Trail access
Mount Ashland rises in the Siskiyou Mountains about 18 miles south of the city of Ashland, topping out at roughly 7,500 feet. It is home to Mount Ashland Ski Area, a community-oriented ski hill with beginner, intermediate and advanced runs and a vertical drop of about 1,150 feet, plus night skiing on selected days.
In summer the mountain is a trailhead for hikers and mountain bikers. The Pacific Crest Trail crosses the Siskiyou Crest nearby, and the high meadows are known for wildflowers in July.
The ski area is reached by Mount Ashland Road from Interstate 5, which can require chains or traction devices in winter. Check current conditions and operating status before visiting, as they depend on snow and weather.
