Washington Park is a 410-acre public park in the hills just west of downtown Portland, and it is home to some of the city's best-known attractions. They include the International Rose Test Garden, established in 1917, the Portland Japanese Garden, the Oregon Zoo, Hoyt Arboretum, the World Forestry Center and the Portland Children's Museum.

The park also holds the Oregon Holocaust Memorial and the Oregon Vietnam Veterans Memorial, and miles of forested trails connect its sites, including the Wildwood Trail that runs through Forest Park. The park itself is free, though individual attractions charge admission.

The MAX Blue and Red lines stop at the Washington Park station, with an elevator to the zoo and park, and a seasonal shuttle links the main attractions. Driving is possible, but parking fills quickly on summer weekends.
