Yaquina Head Lighthouse, completed in 1873, is Oregon's tallest lighthouse at 93 feet. It stands on a basalt headland north of Newport and is the centerpiece of Yaquina Head Outstanding Natural Area, which is managed by the Bureau of Land Management.

The white tower holds a first-order Fresnel lens and a spiral staircase. Volunteers and staff offer tower tours during part of the year, and the nearby interpretive center has exhibits on the headland's geology, wildlife and history. Cobble Beach below the lighthouse has tide pools and views of seabirds, and harbor seals are often seen on offshore rocks.

The area is open year-round, though tower access depends on season and staffing. A vehicle entrance fee covers the natural area.
