Oregon Film Museum
Former 1914 jail in Astoria celebrating Oregon film productions
Located in the historic downtown area of Astoria, the Oregon Film Museum is housed in the former Clatsop County Jail, built in 1914. The building is best known as the jail seen in the opening scene of the 1985 film The Goonies, and the museum celebrates the many movies and television productions filmed across Oregon.
Visitors can step into the old cells, see props and exhibits from productions shot in and around Astoria, and learn how the town became a favorite location for filmmakers. The museum is within walking distance of the waterfront and Astoria's other downtown attractions.
Check the museum's website for current hours and admission before you visit.
